What happens next
- We compare the claim with primary and reputable secondary sources.
- A material error is corrected in the article and noted visibly.
- The modification time is updated when the substance changes.
- A disputed story may be withdrawn while we review it.
Corrections, updates and retractions
- Correction: the current corrected body remains available with a prominent notice explaining the material change.
- Update: significant new information is added without implying the earlier version was factually wrong.
- Retraction: the article is withdrawn when its central claim cannot be supported. The withdrawn body is not served publicly.
A retracted article is withdrawn from publication.
Current public notices
Material notices appear on the affected article while it remains published. A withdrawn article is unavailable; contact the editorial desk with its URL if you need the notice or revision history confirmed.
